I Hate Taxes March 23, 2010

As I look at the calendar and realized that the tax deadline is only one month off, I am reminded of one fact: I hate taxes.
This year I am considering a tax refund advance so that I get the money in my pocket right away. Yes, I did read that this is a bad idea but I am so full of good ones that I am entitled to have a bad one every now and again.
Unlike my friend Arc who always does a tax extension, I do prefer do my taxes by April 15th. At least I will not have it lingering around for so many months.
And, what most people actually do not know is that you don’t get to pay late…you simply get to postpone the paperwork. But don’t you have to do the paperwork to figure out what you owe?
Using that rational, it seems silly not to do your taxes on the 15th of April. But who I am to judge? I am requesting that people do not judge me for getting a tax refund anticipation loan because its a dumb thing to do.
I just like money in hand immediately. Is that so wrong?

Sunday Morning Golf January 17, 2010

I will be making another trip to the golf driving range this Sunday morning. It’s my favorite time to hit the links.
My plan is always this: wake up, make coffee, (make sure not to wake anyone), and then sneak out to hit the driving range for 3 hours. Then, sometimes, I will play a full 18 with the boys…if the wife preapproves that. It takes quite a bit of time to play a round of golf and thus requires pre-approval.
Last night, I had a look at some golf swing tips that I will be working on the golf range today. The reason that I need golf tips is that my swing plane is a little off. I need to figure out how to get back on center so that I stop slicing the golf ball in many weird directions. When you cannot hit the ball straight, it makes for a hell of a time on the course. Golf is an odd game and one in which My Golf Senses sometimes betray me because golf in couterintuitive.
Example: Swing easier and the ball goes further? Hit down on the ball to make it go higher.
Very strange. This is why I need to practice and why I am hitting the range this Sunday morning!!!

The Best Web Browser January 10, 2010

One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday morning is surf the Internet for things that I missed during the week. As such, the web browser that I use is of the uptmost importance.
And lately, Internet Explorer has been letting me down. So, I began wondering what is the best browser to use. I would think that Microsoft would be able to make the best web browser since I am using their operating system, but I would be wrong. Other people are also experiencing the Web Browser Blues when using Internet Explorer.
My goal on Sunday morning is NOT TO DEAL WITH CRASHING WEB BROWSERS. It’s to relax with coffee and have an enjoyable time.
After my limited research, I have decided to go with Firefox for now and it seems to be working.
Cross your fingers for me because I want to continue my morning unimpeded by browser malfunctions!!!

Country Music Friday December 18, 2009

Hi all…just thought I would spread a little Holiday joy this morning. I am in such a good mood because it’s Friday and it’s nearing Christmas and I am sitting here listening to the top country songs on the radio, which I don’t do enough of.
I have My Country Music Favorites, and they also include George Stait and Randy Travis, but you’ll normally find me listening to a most Rock and Roll. But, sometimes you got to shake things up and this morning I’m shaking things up on the country side as Kenny Rogers might say.
So, who is on top of the country charts right now? Who am i listening to? Well, right now, I am experiencing a whole new band called Lady Antebellum.
They are three singers who can really make damn good music. There song “Need You Now” is ruling the country charts and I have the same reaction as another who claimed to be “blown away” by this song.
I just bought and am playing it over and over.
The perfect Friday morning tune. Folks, don’t overlook country if you’re a classic rock n rolla like me. It has a lot to offer!

The Tiger Woods Saga December 4, 2009

So, he’s not perfect after all?
The almighty Tiger Woods with his perfect like perfection has a chink in his armor and that chink is women.
How could he do this? Or how could he not do this?
I was surprised once when I read an article called Golf News: Tiger Loses because for once he kind of folded in a tournament down the stretch. This was so surprising because Tiger Woods never loses on or off the golf course.
But the new of late is so scurrilous how can one not gravitate towards it.
A car accident in his own backyard. Not one women but two and more apparently on the way. You know his wife went balistic and simply bashed in the windows and Tiger was trying to escape, but they’ll never say that.
I guess “I betrayed” my family is all we’ll get from him.
All of this is fresh in my mind. I went to the golf channel to find out if I could finally achieve a proper golf grip and all I got was a bunch of new on “Tiger the Unfaithful”.
As many have said, this actually makes him much more human to be. So he cheated?
What famous athlete has not? It will be interesting to see if this affects his golf game.

Living for Christmas: Spend Time Not Money November 18, 2009

I know for many people Christmas can be a very stressful time of the year. Especially, given the weak economy over the past several years, Christmas can be economically challenging.
But, we need to remind ourselves of this. Christmas is not about money, it’s about time with your loved ones.
And do you know what? Often, the best Christmas gifts are the cheapest. I found this gift called the digital photo keychain that costs like $12. You can load this up with pictures of you and the “giftee” and make this the most memorable gift that they will receive.
People prefer gifts that you spend time on. Thus, if you are economically challenged, spend time not money. People will appreciate your gift even more.
In Christmas Thoughts, we read of the importance of getting everything for Christmas done early. There could be nothing better said. Christmas should not be stressful, it should be time well spent with family.
On that note, what will you do with your family? My family and I love to play games. We spend endless hours with each laughing until we’re crying over great–and inexpensive–games. Games are one of the best Family Christmas Gift Ideas that you can think of.
My favorite is Trivial Pursuit Family addition, allowing the whole family to come together in joy. I can’t wait.
I’m Living for Christmas right now!

Top 10 50 inch LCD TVs June 30, 2009
Posted by toomtown in Uncategorized.add a comment
I am on a research binge right now. Addicted to consumer reviews, I am investigating the Top LCD TVs for fun and maybe a future purchase. I want to go big and why not the price has come down quite a bit.
Why are LCDs great?
LCD TVs do not face the burn-in phenomenon but ghosting can occur due to ‘retained pixel charge’. It means that less blur is presented thus giving you a more smooth viewing experience. While on the other hand, in plasma TVs, blacks are shown as true black colors. Those trying to be “Green” or just back your monthly bills, LCD TVs have advantage. This problem is being tackled by the introduction of the ‘pixel orbiter’ technology. They can vary from personal DVD player size to as large as a 64 inch big screen. Well, let us explore this ever-changing world.
But note that this is a very close fight and any time, things may turn the other way around. LCD TV is not a good option for very large group viewing and were historically primarily meant for single display like a person sitting in front of a computer. Even in a bright room, the quality of image on an LCD monitor will be as crisp as in a dark room. In fact one can easily get their hands on one at much the same price as that of a plasma TV. And with the continuing advancement in technology, some models are now released with 2ms response rate.
This is pretty self explanatory. Before buying an LCD TV, checkout the policy of the manufacturer when it comes to warranty.
You don’t need to pay close attention to all the technical chat because it is there only to make your life harder.
So, just go out and get a cool Samsung!
No Money But Trying June 30, 2009

Ouch. Does anybody cringe when they look at their portfolios now? I do…and i was in all the safe stocks. Yeah, right. So, now I am done with looking at financial reports and I want to find ways to make money fast. I know they exist…and I’ll find them.
My initial notes are as follows.
Finding out which ways are more profitable than others can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. If you are reading this article you are certainly looking for a way to make quick cash, and I am glad to tell you that it is possible. So what ways can enable you to easily make money online? If you are reading this article you are certainly looking for a way to make quick cash, and I am glad to tell you that it is possible.
Depending on the product you sell, you can potentially make $10-$1,000 per sale. They write down their thoughts, feelings, and opinions on many different things.
You can sign up with the search engine giant Google, place some code on your website that creates the ads, and when your visitor clicks on the ad you get paid. That’s the first thing. The first thing you should know in order to start making money by internet marketing, is that this business is not about having to put fake smiles or harassing people into buying stuff from you. This way you can market your products or services to more people rather an opening a shop or a company down the street. But with the internet growing more and more popular each year, making an extra income can come as easy as 1-2 hours a week. This will translate in a good taste of the internet’s potential for profits, because if you know how to canalize your efforts, you will likely see $100, $200 or even $500 or more in profits during your first month in business.
However, it is not the only thing you can do with the blogs. See, here in cyberspace you don’t need a fancy degree to get somewhere. Another option is to maintain your own blog. With the economy the way it is, most people think that making an extra income is impossible.
Here is one idea: Instead of looking for a job, start your own business. I am talking about making money from your passion.
And I am definitely passionate about making money!!!
